- Purpose of the tools
The calculators on this website (including, but not limited to, the Thermal Expansion Relief Load Calculator, PSV sizing tools, line sizing tools, tank venting and vessel volume calculators) are intended for educational and informational purposes. .They are designed to support process engineers with initial, indicative calculations based on recognized methods (e.g. API 520/521/2000, Crane TP-410, GPSA).
- Not a substitute for professional engineering judgment
Results from these tools are not a substitute for a full technical review by a qualified (process) engineer, and are not intended for direct use in final design, safety-critical applications, permitting, or regulatory compliance without independent verification.
